Or in this case, #MeetTheMaker{s} as My Tindy is all about collaboration and collections.
I really enjoy doing these #MeetTheMaker posts because I get to meet energetic people who are making wonderful things and showcase a side of Moroccan craft and creativity that is not always seen in the guidebooks. So it is great to be able to do this post on My Tindy – a platform that provides an online shop window to so many Moroccan designers.
Have a look here for a list of all the designers, makers and artisans you can find on My Tindy
My Tindy (tindy means craft in berber) allows customers from all over the world to support and shop for Moroccan craft.

#1 TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR WORK
Sure! My name is Aida, I was born in France and grew up between France and Morocco before going to Canada to study marketing at McGill university. I always knew that I wanted to build something on my own and I have always been in different businesses and ventures from a very early age, I loved the feeling of working and creating something from nothing. When I arrived in Canada in 2011, we were in the start of a big digital shift with social media and the prominence of ecommerce, it was a very interesting time to live there. So I decided to learn more about it on my own on top of my studies and started several internships and freelance jobs to learn how to create websites and how to better master this topic. It was also the start of the dropshipping era and I immediately dived into it (dropshipping is the process of selling items via your website directly from a seller usually in China who takes care of all your logistics) and it worked great for me. I loved dropshipping because it gave me a tremendous liberty and it was a great business in terms of profits and revenue. However, after a certain time I started to lose interest because I felt that there was not real impact behind what I was doing and I didn’t feel that I was helping or contributing to something. So, I decided to close the shop and start thinking about what is next. That is when I started talking with fellow moroccan entrepreneurs and I quickly stumbled upon the need for Morocco to become more digital and mostly in the craft sector. We decided to join forces with chakib, a fellow entrepreneur from Morocco who was also in the commerce sector in Canada. MyTindy is our way to use our skills to impact Morocco by allowing artisans, designers to have the possibility to sell online and to sell abroad.

#2 WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND MY TINDY?
The one thing that came to my mind all the time when I was working on MyTindy was community, how to leverage a website full of talented creatives to make it more accessible to anyone to shop special articles and not go to big box stores out of lack of availability. We want to make shopping from independent creatives as easy as shopping on any big brand website.

#3 WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF THE ONLINE PROCESS FOR YOU?
The accessibility, the fact that we have visitors from countries I never visited and that we are able to connect these 2 entities to me is truly magical.
#4 PLANS & DREAMS FOR THE YEAR AHEAD?
Reach 1000 vendors on MyTindy and continue building the team, it is a very important aspect that we are working hard. MyTindy wouldn’t be anything without its team. We hope that by the end of 2021, we’ll have a full operational team in Morocco and that we will start exploring our next country to go with MyTindy.

#5 PRACTICALITIES
We handle all the practicalities, we ship worldwide everyday and you get free shipping when you spend 150€ or more. You receive a tracking code for all your orders and you know exactly where your order is at, if you chose the express shipping you receive it in 4 days wherever you are.

#6 AND FINALLY – YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE FOR COFFEE (OR TEA) IN TOWN?
In Casablanca, my favorite place is Espresso Lab!
